It is reported that RSA, the UK’s largest commercial insurer has made a £5bn offer for the general insurance business of Aviva (also one of the UK’s largest commercial insurers). We understand that this offer has been declined by Aviva who are reluctant to split their General and Life Insurance businesses.
It is thought that the companies are not in talks currently. Further updates on this as we hear more. As we deal with both insurers, we’re ready to do business whichever way it resolves itself.
