John Heath Backing Crewe Growth With HS2

The railways brought great prosperity to Crewe over 175 years ago, and it’s great to see the town once again at the heart of the country’s UK infrastructure plans – with the HS2 rollout soon to begin.

The decision to extend high-speed rail up and down the country has caused plenty of debate. However, the benefits will be considerable. Cheshire East Council and the South Cheshire Chamber of Commerce have already projected significant growth for the region. Quite right too. Crewe and the South Cheshire area has much to offer. There’s an excellent geographic position to a varied, skilled and mobile workforce.

Crewe and surrounding area is already well connected, and enhanced provision for business and leisure travellers with increased railway options will provide some outstanding opportunities for everyone.

Completing The Crewe Masterplan

There’s plenty more to get local people and businesses excited over the next few years. A revamped station should happen as HS2 progresses. With that comes improved traffic flows and endless possibilities for hotels, shops, entertainment and catering operations around the train station area. Sure there are issues to be resolved, but the conversations have been ongoing for some time.

John Heath has been based on Nantwich Road for many years. We have seen how vital investment is to the communities that have developed and prospered around the “retail mile” since the railway first arrived in the town.

Several pieces of the Crewe jigsaw will soon be put in place. Connecting the railway area to business and retail zones is vital, and news that the town centre regeneration is soon to begin also gives the area’s business community great hope for the future.

A booming business park, hugely successful retail park, plus the newly created University Technical College and Lifestyle Centre have shown a commitment to the town by commercial enterprise and local authority alike.

Crewe has massive potential, and the job for us all is to help connect the dots to develop a formidable town fit for the twenty first century and beyond.

A Decade Of Change For Crewe

One thing is certain; over the next ten years there will be construction everywhere. Cranes will dominate the skyline and change and progress become part of everyday conversation.

With such investment comes opportunity for local and regional companies to support the transition period and beyond. Whether that is insurance products, financial investments, project management or the many other support services; the regeneration phase is something we can all embrace and celebrate.

HS2 Growth Is Good News For Everyone

Crewe has been strategically important to regional railway connections for nearly two centuries. Since the 1960s the town also added one of the country’s key motorways to its portfolio. In fact, the area has three easily accessible M6 junctions at Crewe, Sandbach and Middlewich. This makes all areas of the South Cheshire region prime targets for trading points, commercial hubs, technical business parks and also new housing developments.

Crewe

John Heath Insurance is proud to be a key player in the Crewe business community. It’s where the company has always kept its roots, from generation to generation, with a growing workforce all from the area that remains proud that we play a part in the region’s prosperity.

Here’s looking forward to an exciting decade of development and growth that lies ahead for Crewe, Nantwich and the surrounding towns and villages…
